Light In the Dark

I was thinking today about how people who aren't really following in the right path in life find out where to go. Especially for those who are "christians" by name, but don't really live the life, but want to and just don't know where to look or what to look for exactly. I have heard that people try to find their way on their own, and i was thinking about if that would actually work or not. I feel that if someone is searching without a guidance then its like they are in the dark without a light and have no way of knowing where to go or what they are looking for. That is what makes Christians set apart from others, we are supposed to be the light to those who are wandering around in the darkness. The only way for them to find Jesus is for his light to shine through us as Christians. WE are to be the light that guides others to find the only way to the kingdom of Heaven. As it says in 1 John 1:7, "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin." This is why we as Christians must show others that light of Jesus through our lives.

The Ageless Wonder

After playing football for 17 years Brett Favre retired for a second time after this passed season and his only season with the New York Jets. There are now talks of him coming out of retirement once again to play for the Minnesota Vikings. These talks seem to have slowed because Favre keeps saying that he wants to stay retired, but that is what he said the last time he was retired as well. Between now and the beginning of the season many things could change and he could very well decide to come back and play for Minnesota or any other team next year. He has been injured so many times and is very well known for fighting through tough pain to be able to play in game after game after game. He even holds the NFL record for consecutive games played with 269 regular season games, including playoffs it was 291. A record that seems unsurpassable. He holds almost every quarterback record in the books and is most likely going to be known as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play if not the best quarterback to ever play the game. With how many times he has played through injuries and fought threw tough times to show his love for the game I would not be surprised if he could just not stay away from the game. This story could go on for awhile and could very well have an almost soap opera story ending, we will all just have to wait and see.

MVP is back!

Cole Hamels was on the mound friday night for the Phillies against the Braves. After consecutive outings where he had to leave the game early he finally found his groove and was able to get through at least 5 innings. He was hit by a line drive 2 games ago in by Prince Fielder, one of the biggest power hitters in the league, in the 4th inning and in the last game he rolled his ankle while fielding a ball that was hit back to him and had to leave in the 4th inning again. Many analysts said that if the Phillies were going to repeat as World Series Champions Cole Hamels would have to be on his A game and not get any serious injuries. So far he has been able to go through the year without being seriously injured and on friday night he was able to get his first win of the season. This looks like just what Hamels needed to get a jump on repeating as a World Series MVP. So for Phillies fans everywhere this game was definitely one that showed much promise and could very well bring the fans' faith in Hamels back...for now.

Who will be next?

There have been so many baseball players who have tested positive to some sort of performance enhancing drugs its not even funny anymore and of course just yesterday the sports world found out about one more. Manny Ramirez tested positive for a female fertility drug which apparently raised his testosterone levels. This has been an ongoing controversy for years now and it seems like every name that is mentioned is again another great player in the league. It is seriously like a plague that has infected the baseball world and after we think it has subdued and we don't hear anything for a few weeks or months another "victim" comes out with the cheating plague. It is really ashame for baseball and all sports because people who aren't really fans of the game only hear about steroids and how players are cheaters so they would only think that baseball is fake or unfair. Those of us who are fans of baseball know that it can be so much better than this is it was played fairly and that hopefully some day this will all be a distant memory. The only question is who will be the next to be taken by "the plague"?

Life Passing By

Recently I was thinking about making my choice about where to go to college and I kinda just felt like life was just rolling along without me. We can always make the choice to just let life keep going without us or decide to actually catch up and do something about it. With choosing what school to go to I could be taking numerous different paths. One path can lead to the right school, successful job, and eventually a successful life. On the other hand though the wrong path could be taken which could lead to failure, destruction, and a useless life. If the choice isn't made then that is how life seems to pass by as you sit and watch it. Make a choice and just do what you can to make it work out.

life along the warning track

At the warning track is basically a title that has a bunch of meanings...I love things that have double meanings. So basically I thought that for sports many people would know what a warning track is and it obviously has to do with sports and I love sports! Also it is the thought of how the warning track stands for something that shows a baseball player that the wall is coming. I want to show how people can be warned of different obstacles and problems in life because no one wants to be surprised with an unpleasant problem.

This is just about the newest and most interesting things in sports, (mainly who is the newest person to be paid millions of dollars to pop some pills is) inspirational devotions that will hopefully challenge people to think about things from a spiritual aspect, and lastly it will be where I put down the crazy thoughts that are going through my head about everyday things. The most important thing about this blog is that whoever reads this leaves a lot of comments and hopefully some constructive criticism rather than just criticism. I want to hear what all of you out there think about the things I'm saying. I want your opinions! The more comments that are left the better the blog will be.
